Sorona Jenkins – VP Corporate Advisory Council

Ms. Sorona Jenkins is a native of Charleston, SC.  She has a BA in Human Resource Management and has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field.  As the spouse of a member of the United States Marine Corp, Sorona entered into the Federal Government system as a Human Resource Specialist. Upon returning to Charleston she became employed with the State of South Carolina. She currently holds the position of HR Supervisor. She has experience in the areas of administration, staffing, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and training & development.  Prior to government employment, Ms. Jenkins also worked in Human Resources for numerous private companies as a HR Specialist and/or HR Generalist.  She is also active in many community outreach committees.

Ms. Jenkins serves as the President of the Charleston Cotillion Club, mentors young ladies and present them to society. She volunteers for several causes to include Habitat for Humanity, various county Beach Cleanup, “Treats for Troops”, church/religious related projects, book-drop for community centers, toy drive for the local children hospital and is the co-chairperson for the St. Andrews Parish Neighborhood Association.  She is also works Prudential, the Volvo Cup, the College of Charleston, Palmetto Warriors and several local businesses for the annual Veterans Transition Workshop & Employment Fair in the spring and the Annual Veterans Day Celebration in November.  Sorona is talented, creative and very dedicated to the many organizations she embraces.
