VeLonda Dantzler, M.A. – VP of Programs and Professional Development

VeLonda Dantzler is the Learning and Talent Development Manager for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as well as an adjunct faculty member with the College of Charleston.  In her role, she is responsible for establishing a strategy for professional and career development that is aligned with existing and emerging priorities while providing consultation to university leadership in the areas of talent development in order to meet organization initiatives.

With 15 years of experience, she currently serves as the chair for the University’s HR Learning Council for mandatory education and co-chairs the President’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Initiative Education workgroup.  She continues to serve on various enterprise-wide initiatives such as Strategic Leadership Development.

Prior to coming to MUSC, she developed and implemented health-related programs for South Carolina companies such as McLeod Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Palmetto Health. 

VeLonda has a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the University of South Carolina.  She is nationally certified with the Institute of Human Resources in Developing Organizational Leadership Capabilities and the National Coalition of Building Institute as a facilitator for diversity education.
