Juna Pierre, Representative, NAAAHR New England Chapter.

Juna (pronounced “Gee-na”) Pierre is the President of the NAAAHR New England Chapter. Juna began her career in HR 13 years ago in the financial services industry. In December 2015, Juna joined Boston Public Schools (BPS) as their Director of Compliance in the Office of Equity. In her role in the Office of Equity, Juna is responsible for responding to allegations of bias-based conduct and serves as the District’s Title IX Coordinator.

Prior to BPS, Juna served as Diversity Officer at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, where she conducted all internal discrimination investigations and responded to disability and religious accommodation requests. During her time at the Department, Juna completed the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination certified courses in Conducting Internal Discrimination Complaint Investigations, Responding to Accommodation Requests, and Conducting Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Training. Juna spent several years working in the defense industry as an HR Business partner supporting manufacturing facilities with 700+ employees. Juna’s background has primarily been in employee relations, performance management, and process improvement.

Juna has a B.A. from Framingham State University in Framingham, MA, and an M.S. in Human Resources Management from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA.
