Since 2015, Charmelle Jackson has served as the Human Resources Manager for The Pittsburgh Foundation, managing human resources functions for the Foundation and its supporting organizations. Jackson works with senior management to develop and implement policies and practices that enhance the Foundation’s positive workplace culture. With Jackson’s guidance, the Foundation’s employee-oriented environment emphasizes collaboration, quality, continuous improvement, high performance, problem-solving, professional development and goal attainment for the good of the community and the staff.
Before joining the Foundation’s staff, Jackson was payroll manager for AAA East Central, where she led the company’s payroll processes and systems, instituting best practices and new policies and procedures. Prior to AAA, she was human resources generalist with the Northside law firm of Burns White, LLC, where she supported hiring, new employee orientation, training & development programs and annual performance reviews.
Jackson is a Pittsburgh native and her bachelor’s degree with a concentration in human resources and then her MBA with a concentration in management. She has published articles about best practices in human resources in Smart Business Magazine and was a recipient of the 2016 The New Pittsburgh Courier Women of Excellence Award. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Pittsburgh Human Resources Association, Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society and the National Society of Professional Women.
