The Mission of the office of the Chief Diversity Officer of NAAAHR is to provide diversity and inclusion programs that will help enhancer the career development of Black and  African American human resources professionals.

The Chief Diversity Officer for the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), is to facilitate inspirational and unique diversity and inclusion career development opportunities for Black and  African American human resources practitioners such as networking, D&I career opportunities, D&I educational and professional  development, D&I coaching and D&I tools, tips and resources.
The Chief Diversity Officer position exist to help enhance the careers of NAAAHR  members and position them to be key contributors of the strategic D&I direction of their organizations!

  • To enhance the diversity and inclusion knowledge of members by conducting chapter educational forums for Black and African American HR  practitioners and those who are aligned with our goals.
  • To serve as a diversity and inclusion resource to NAAAHR chapters interested in increasing their diversity and inclusion knowledge and experience or entering the Diversity and Inclusion profession.
  • To conduct, monitor and disseminate diversity and inclusion research and analysis on major diversity issues affecting companies, communities, or the country.
  • To influence diversity and inclusion platforms of national and international organizations on diversity and inclusion best practices.
  • To establish a methodology to monitor legislation and other factors that affect Human  Resources practitioners and to disseminate diversity and inclusion strategies that effectively enhance members ability to respond to issues within their respective workplace.
  • To conduct diversity and inclusion educational forums for professional development which advances and expands the knowledge of HR practitioners.

Member Education
  • Increase diversity and education information sharing to increase member diversity knowledge
  • Conduct diversity and inclusion education forums
  • Sponsor D&I activities at Chapter 

Community Engagement
  • Broaden our access to greater member by partnering with other national affinity organizations
  • Participate in national and regional diversity conferences 
  • Inform the companies and communities of NAAAHR overall mission and diversity activities by through various efforts such as fundraising,  marketing , communication, and social media etc.

Brand Enhancement and Sustainability
  • Support and sponsor diversity and inclusion activities at new locations identified for chapter development
  • Participate in national and regional diversity conferences and meetings
  • Leverage the Young Professionals Network and Collegiate Network by educating them on NAAAHR diversity goals
