Presidents Letter

Dear Members, Strategic Partners, Chairman and Vice Chairman and Executive Board of Directors,

On January 31, 2019, I was appointed and announced as the next National President of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources. It is my humble honor to serve you as a leader and colleague over the next two years. The National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR), a not-for-profit organization, exists to provide a global forum where Black and African American human resources practitioners and those who are aligned with our goals can share, gain information and provide leadership on issues affecting their individual careers and the global workforce.

With confidence, I can say that NAAAHR is the leader in diversity and continues to build solid relationships with our corporate partners and sponsors. Under my leadership, the vision of NAAAHR will reach far beyond the walls of the United States as we know it today. The National Board of Directors and Chapter Leaders will carefully build upon the following Seven Pillars to globalize and harmonize our organizational efforts:

● Empowering Women

● Diversity and Inclusion

● International Growth

● Collegiate Connections through HBCU’s

● Social Media Awareness

● Motivating Millennials

● Strategic Partnership’s

This call to action will redefine the way we work and operate with the collaboration of our supporters and partners. Ultimately, the goal of NAAAHR is to broaden our professional capacity in education, corporate networking, socialization, and equality for all. In June 2019, NAAAHR will be launching the first ever Global Human Resources Leadership Institute at Howard University, designed to prepare college seniors and early career HR professionals to step into leadership roles and lead global strategies.

It is my determination to carry this organization to the next level for our members and affiliates, trusting that we will be able to meet the needs of a growing society. African Americans, Blacks, and People of Color in our surrounding communities and abroad are welcomed and encouraged to find a local NAAAHR chapter to be involved with as we take this journey together. I am thrilled and looking forward to working with each of you and hope to have the pleasure of meeting you in person.

My Very Best,

Erika Broadwater
